SureChem the new choice for chemical patent search

August 16, 2009 - SureChem Database Version 3 released

Now at 10.9 million unique structures, Japan patent data, OCR error correction, addition of InChI

Washington, DC - In time for the American Chemistry Society Fall 2009 Meeting, SureChem is please to announce the release of Version 3 of its SureChem patent chemistry database.

This latest release brings the number of unique structures to 10.9 million unique structures, compared with 8.5 million in our previous release. This is due to the addition of Japan patent abstracts as well as error correction routines that have resulted in better, more accurate extraction of chemical names from text as well as improved rates of name-to-structure conversion. Our number of patent documents now stands at 17.9 million, and MEDLINE abstracts at 19.9 million.

Database improvements at a glance:

    • Addition of Japan patent abstracts
    • Addition of InChI codes and keys to database
    • Error correction modules for better entity recognition of name-to-structure conversion, resulting in a 10% increase in structures converted
    • Unique structures: 10.9 million (vs 8.5 million in previous database version)
    • Patent records: 17.9 million
    • MEDLINE records: 19.9 million
